CITY MUNICIPALITIES

RBGC is built on cooperation of cities, metropolitan regions and regional authorities in Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Germany. Altogether 10 cities, extensively representing the countries of the RB region promote metropolitan perspective and gain new knowledge and know-of the cities’ need to contribute to Rail Baltica on their part. City of Helsinki is the Lead Partner of RBGC.

REGIONAL AUTHORITIES

RBGC brings together the actors of local metropolitan policies in Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Germany in order to build up a common understanding and vision of Rail Baltica Growth Corridor. Altogether 5 regional authorities around the Rail Baltica region are contributing the work of RBGC in cooperation with their counterparts – local cities and municipalities.

RESEARCH INSTITUTES AND UNIVERSITIES

Five universities from Finland, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland contribute strongly to the research know-how in RBGC. Universities support the stakeholder study in public and private sector conducted in Work Packages 3-4. In addition they support local research in cooperation with cities and regional authorities. Aalto University Small Business Center is the Coordinating Partner of RBGC.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT AUTHORITIES

Public Transport Authority Berlin-Brandenburg from Germany brings sector-specific know-how to partner consortium. It coordinates WP5 which aims at introducing a door-to-door online travel planner covering the whole Rail Baltica Region. VBB also supports the local cities and regions on their way towards developing an online system which can be integrated to the joint travel planner.
