Efficient multimodal connections and innovative transport solutions in Rail Baltica context
RBGC Conference on 'Development of Multimodal Hubs in Europe' illustrated number of development plans and strategies
The 2nd RBGC Polish-German Interregional Roundtable Conference dedicated to “Development of Multimodal Hubs in Europe” was held in Łódź from 31st May to 1st June 2012.
The conference provided an opportunity to discuss and exchange best practices in the field of innovative transport solutions and establish positive cooperation among actors dealing with transport issues. The conference was attended by over 130 participants coming from public and private sector, involved in forming transport policy. Amongst the invited were: scientists, parliamentarians, local authorities, RBGC Project Partners and representatives of railway companies.
The conference was a successful occasion for the discussions on the further development of Rail Baltica connection with reference to the assumptions of the European Union, regional and local strategies for development of efficient multimodal connections.
The presentations of ongoing infrastructure projects in host city Łódź served as a set of good examples illustrating development of effective transport systems contributing to the evolution of transport infrastructure on the European Union level.
